Hi everyone,

I work as the public geek at the Takoma Park Maryland Library, a
close-in suburb of Washington DC. Our library offers 28 Linux
stations for public access seven days a week. I help youth and adults
use these computers.

I also blog for the PCWorld.com web site, often mentioning FOSS as
the most logical solution for different computer tasks. (I tend to
sing a lot about Ubuntu, Firefox, and Firefox extensions.) see

I also teach a graduate class in educational technology at
American University where I quite often explain that FOSS makes the
most sense when building a more inclusive world.

In my free time I take donated computers to youth and adults
who don't have them. I mostly place Macs these days, but in the right
situation I also place Linux computers. (I have a steady supply of
donated Macs coming my way.)

As with others on this list, I'm also involved with free
content projects -- most recently I worked on the Cooked Rice
Vocabulary Project.

I'm sure thrilled to meet the others on this list. If we
apply the right force in the right place, we'll move the world. We
should move carefully, but deliberately. We can't afford mistakes when
we're fighting for freedom.

             Phil
