Getting Help
Our outreach program regularly visits with government leaders to promote an equitable open source acquisition strategy, encourage contributions to open source projects, and help programs find new opportunities for open source in their work. The Mentors also provide whitepapers, message sheets and presentations that help advocates and open source organizations make the case for open source themselves.
Government staff and private firms often find it difficult to navigate the procurement and use of open source in the Federal government. Is open source allowed? When can I use it? How do I convince my security group that it’s safe? The Help Desk provides resources that can help you navigate these questions.
